Common Questions

How do I create an event?

Tap the + button on the Discover screen. Fill in your trail, date, time, difficulty, and activity type. Once posted, other TrailMates users near you can discover and join your event.

How does Trail Buddy matching work?

Go to the Mates tab and tap Trail Buddies. Set your preferences — activity type, skill level, pace, gender preference, and more. We'll surface compatible hikers and riders near you so you can connect before hitting the trail.

How do I update my profile photo?

Tap your avatar in the top-right corner of any screen to open your profile. Tap your photo to upload a new one from your camera roll.

Why isn't my location showing on the map?

TrailMates needs location access to show events near you. Go to your iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → TrailMates and set it to While Using the App.

How do trail conditions get updated?

Trail conditions are reported by the TrailMates community. When creating or viewing an event, you'll see the latest condition status for that trail. You can also report conditions directly from an event.

How do I delete my account?

To request account deletion, email us at support@trailmatesapp.com with the subject line "Delete My Account" and include the email address tied to your TrailMates account. We'll process your request within 5 business days.

Is TrailMates available on Android?

TrailMates is currently available on iOS. Android support is on our roadmap — stay tuned for updates at trailmatesapp.com.
